Rules & Regulations

1. GENERAL CONDUCT & BEHAVIOUR

1.1 Expected Behaviour

Students shall:

  • • Maintain professional, ethical, and respectful conduct at all times.
  • • Respect academic staff, administrative staff, fellow students, and visitors.
  • • Adhere to institutional values, policies, and national laws.
  • • Use university property responsibly

1.2 Prohibited Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • • Ragging, bullying, harassment, intimidation (physical, verbal, or digital).
  • • Discrimination based on gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or disability.
  • • Substance abuse (alcohol, narcotics) on campus or during university activities.
  • • Damage, theft, or misuse of university property.
  • • Academic dishonesty (plagiarism, cheating, impersonation).

1.3 Disciplinary Action

Violations may result in:

  • • Written warnings
  • • Suspension (temporary or permanent).
  • • Cancellation of registration.
  • • Withholding of results or certificates.

Disciplinary decisions shall be made by the Student Disciplinary Committee, whose decision shall be final.

2. ATTENDANCE POLICY

  • • Minimum 80% attendance is mandatory for all lectures, tutorials, laboratories, and practical sessions.
  • • Students failing to meet attendance requirements may be:
  • Barred from examinations
  • Required to repeat modules
  • • Medical certificates must be submitted within 3 working days.

3. FEES, PAYMENTS & REFUND POLICY

3.1 Fees

  • • All fees must be paid according to the published schedule.
  • • Failure to pay may result in:
  • Suspension of classes
  • Ineligibility for examinations
  • Withholding of certificates

3.2 Refund Policy

  • • Registration fees are non-refundable
  • • Tuition fee refunds :

Refunds are subject to written approval and processed within 30 working days.

4. EXAMINATION REGULATIONS

4.1 Eligibility

To sit for examinations, students must:

  • • Meet attendance requirements
  • • Clear all outstanding payments
  • • Comply with academic requirements

4.2 Examination Conduct

Students shall:

  • • Carry a valid student ID
  • • Follow the invigilator's instructions
  • • Refrain from cheating, communication, or unauthorized materials

4.3 Malpractice

Examination malpractice will result in:

  • • Immediate cancellation of the examination
  • • Disciplinary inquiry
  • • Possible suspension or termination

5. ASSESSMENTS, ASSIGNMENTS & RESEARCH

5.1 Assignments

  • • All assignments must be original work
  • • Plagiarism above acceptable limits will result in:
  • Zero marks
  • Resubmission
  • Disciplinary action

5.2 Research Ethics

Students must:

  • • Follow ethical research standards.
  • • Obtain ethical clearance where required.
  • • Avoid data fabrication, falsification, or misrepresentation.

Violation may result in termination of research registration.

6. VIVA VOCE / ORAL EXAMINATIONS

  • • Viva dates shall be notified officially
  • • Students must:
  • Attend on scheduled dates
  • Be professionally dressed
  • • Failure to attend without a valid reason may lead to:
  • Automatic failure
  • Requirement to re-register with additional fees

Viva results are final after ratification.

7. RESULTS, TRANSCRIPTS & ISSUE OF LETTERS

7.1  Results

  • • Results shall be released after Academic Board approval.
  • • Provisional results are subject to confirmation.

7.2  Official Letters

Students may request:

  • • Enrollment letters
  • • Bonafide letters
  • • Completion letters

Processing time: 7–14 working days.

8. CERTIFICATES & TRANSCRIPTS

  • Certificates will be issued only after:
  • • Completion of programme requirements
  • • Clearance of all financial obligations
  • • Collection may be:
  • • In person
  • • Through authorized third parties (with written consent)

Lost certificates require:

  • • Police report
  • • Affidavit
  • • Re-issue fee

9. CORRECTIONS & AMENDMENTS

9.1 Name / Detail Corrections

  • • Correction requests must be submitted within 3 months of issuance
  • • Supporting documents (NIC/Passport/Birth Certificate) are mandatory
  • • Errors due to student submission may incur a correction fee

9.2 No retrospective corrections after graduation ceremonies unless due to institutional error.

10. GRIEVANCE & APPEALS

  • Students may submit written appeals regarding:
  • • Examination results
  • • Disciplinary actions
  • Appeals must be lodged within 14 working days
  • Decisions of the Appeals Committee are final

11. AMENDMENT OF RULES

The University reserves the right to:

  • • Amend, revise, or update these rules at any time
  • • Communicate changes through official channels

12. GOVERNING AUTHORITY

These rules are governed by:

  • • The University Academic Council
  • • Applicable national higher education regulations
  • • Institutional policies
